Confessions by Augustine of Hippo is one of the most famous literature works of the medieval times. It had and still has a big impact on people’s life. It was an inspiration for John Calvin, Martin Luther and many others. Even Bob Dylan wrote the song about St Augustine. But why does this book affect us so much? 

 

This is a real lifetime story of St Augustine. He speaks about his sins, problems and emotional experiences. What’s interesting, he doesn’t tell us about it. He has a conversation with God and it makes this book really special. After accepting baptism, Augustine of Hippo looks back at the past, at his childhood and teen ages, at his love and tries to teach. He realizes that every thing in his life wasn’t right. His views and attitudes to life changed, and now he asks God to forgive him.
