Yvain, the knight of the Lion

Yvain, the Knight of the Lion is a famous Arthurian romance written by Chrétien de Troyes. This is a beautiful story about knights, lovely ladies, fire-breathing dragons and castles. Sounds great, doesn't it? And it's even greater because you can not just read it, but also see it all. How?

Recently M.T. Anderson has writren a special version of this romance, adopted for a graphic novel, which has been made for teenagers. The pictures for the book have been drawn by Andrea Offerman, whose arts were exhibited in Germany, the United States and other countries.

As we think, this graphic novel is a real gift for all lovers of medieval literature. It has been painted quite carefully, so you can see, for example, how people dressed at the end of 12th century.

Of course, this graphic novel is quite diffirent from the original story. If you want to know more about the story of Yvain, we offer you our analyses based on the work of Dongdong Han from The Camelot project of the University of Rochester. We tried to pick up all the necessary and interesting information from his work in order to make your process of studying easier. If you want to read the whole article, see the link to the website of the Rochester University, which is at the bottom of the page dedicated to Yvain (character).

You can buy the graphic novel in the Internet or find the book in your bookstore. We can offer you the original text: the link is below.
